About Me

Hi I’m Willow! With a double major in Graphic Design and a in Strategic Communication from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities (Class of 2020), I've built a career that spans from breaking news to branding. These days, you'll find me at KARE in Minneapolis, where I chase stories before sunrise as an photojournalist and editor creating compelling content for the morning news. Whether I'm racing to capture breaking news overnight or setting up the perfect shot for live broadcasts, I thrive on the creative aspect of visual storytelling.

I'm fluent in the entire Adobe Creative Suite, comfortable with CSS/HTML coding, and skilled at turning complex ideas into clean, effective designs – whether that's through logo design, print and digital advertising, or packaging design.

When I'm not in the newsroom or deep in design mode, you'll likely find me with my headphones on – listening to a soundtrack that spans from pop-punk to EDM, with plenty of showtunes mixed in for good measure. I'm a regular at local concerts and musicals (budget permitting), drawing inspiration from the energy and artistry of live performances.

In my downtime, I dive into thriller novels and enjoy watching geeky sci-fi television shows. My cat Xanadu keeps me company during late-night design sessions, occasionally offering her creative input by strategically placing herself on my keyboard.

I believe the best design comes from staying curious and connected to different forms of creativity. Whether it's composing the perfect news shot, crafting a compelling visual story, or finding inspiration in a concert poster, I'm always looking for ways to create content that matters.
